SERVICES
Promenade Psychotherapy offers individual, and family therapy.
ANXIETY
The leading treatment for anxiety disorders is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), which focuses on challenging and replacing the thoughts, feelings, and behaviors that maintain anxiety. Dr. Madni provides CBT, as well as exposure therapy, to children, adolescents and adults with generalized anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and phobias. Dr. Madni also utilizes mindfulness-based interventions to help individuals develop nonjudgmental awareness of anxiety symptoms and allow them to make more skillful decisions rather than reacting automatically or out of habit.
EATING DISORDERS
Dr. Madni provides specialized treatment to individuals who struggle with a variety of eating disorders, including picky-eating, food-related fears, anorexia, bulimia, and binge-eating. She utilizes Family Based Treatment for Eating Disorders (FBT), the leading evidence-based treatment for child and adolescent eating disorders. Additionally, Dr. Madni works with children through adults to develop coping skills and strategies to enhance emotion regulation using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT).
MOOD DISORDERS
Dr. Madni offers a couple of different options for treatment of depression and bipolar disorder. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) has been identified as an effective treatment for depression and bipolar disorder, both when used alone or in combination with medication. However, for some individuals with depression, CBT may not be the best fit. Dr. Madni will work with you to determine if another treatment may be more beneficial such as psychodynamic therapy. A primary goal of psychodynamic therapy is to help individuals develop insight into unconscious conflicts and gain awareness of the impact of these conflicts on feelings and behaviors. Additionally, this therapy focuses on fostering individuals' internal resources to effectively cope with these conflicts.
